Pelican Piecemakers Make Beautiful Quilts for QBB

Each winter I have the great fortune to spend time with the talented and generous ladies of the Pelican Piecemakers quilting guild in New Smyrna Beach, Fl. They meet weekly and alternate the weeks between charity quilting, business meeting, education meeting, and personal quilting. Some of the members live in the area year round, and others come in from northern states and Canada, and all are made to feel welcome. It’s truly a wonderful group of women.

In January I presented to the guild during one of our monthly education meetings. I spoke about Quilts Beyond Borders, and showed a slide show of my trip to deliver quilts last spring. Several of the members were kind enough to make and donate beautiful quilts for us to deliver to children in Ethiopia this year. The quilts shown below were made by these guild members:

  • Barbara Delphos
  • Eleanor Macmillan
  • Julie Aurand
  • Jeanne’ Cockrell
  • Jean Raulerson
  • Kathy Davis
  • Lis Bullington (piecer) / Fran Posick (quilter)
  • Ruth Baker

Ladies, all of these quilts are so adorable and imaginative! The children who receive them will appreciate their warmth, creativity and beautiful workmanship. Thank you all so much!
