The next group for Syrian children in Jordan

We are preparing another shipment of quilts that will go to the school in Jordan for the next group of children who are enrolled in the school that is designed for those suffering from PTSD. If you missed the original story about this wonderful effort, you can read about it

These quilts were made by Karen Cook, Linda R, Lana D., Sharon T., K.D. Cranford, R. Grove, Debbie D., Angela T., R., Grove, Janice Cunningham, Peggy H., and Linda Roush. Thank you to all of you that worked to make these beautiful gifts. The children that receive these pretty quilts will be wrapped in your love as they begin to heal their shattered lives.   This will be an on-going effort for us through November.

As a Regional Coordinator, I am lucky enough to receive boxes of completed quilts from longarmers and quilters from all over the country.  It’s almost like getting a Christmas gift that you don’t expect–I never know what is in the box!  When I open each box, I absolutely love seeing how the vision of a quilter has turned ordinary fabrics into a new work of art.   It is a long tradition of quilting to take various pieces of fabric to create something that is needed and these women did a wonderful job of keeping that tradition alive.  These works of art will comfort each child while they attend school and then it will keep them warm when they take the quilt home.
