A special group

Yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting with the Quilters of Ankora Village in Lynnwood WA. This group has supported QBB with quilts for the past three years. But this year, a delightful record – 30 quilts and 9 tops – colorful, kid prints, interesting and familiar designs – just an eyeful of terrific quilts. This group of ladies, about 20, have parlayed a large quilting/ meeting room in their community. They enjoy time together and quilting together and hope for a Sweet 16 long arm in the future.

The Ankora community has attracted mainly Christians and many have served not only in their churches but also on the mission field around the world. So they truly understand refugees in Syria and our effort to reach out to orphans around the world. We enjoyed time looking at the quilts and an inspiring “blessing of the quilts”, headed to trauma centers in Jordan. I am in the corner behind the quilts, waiting to tell the news of the trauma centers.

Beautiful quilts, beautiful people and a beautiful day for me!
